The great thing about Bill Deasy is that he writes so many good songs.  But it's also a dilemma.  This is how it all starts -- Bill puts his ideas down at home in their rawest form.  Some songs will find their way to a Bill Deasy record. Others wind up being pitched to different artists.  And some songs fall kind of in-between.  They might not be quite right for Bill at the time but are still so purely "Bill Deasy" that chances are that no one else besides him can really "own" them.  And it might just be that certain songs aren't right for a current project or as simple as not yet figuring out how to make the transition to a fully produced version.  So this dilemma gave birth to the Drain Tapes series.  A chance to get an insight into Bill's songwriting and for him, a chance to get these songs out there to the world.
